I got these for my backyard. My backyard is smaller so I couldn’t escape the smell. Makes sense that they stink to attract the flies, which it did very well, but I can’t stand the smell. Emptied a bag full of flies about 2 weeks later.
These fly traps work really well. But they usually do. The flies are so bad here right now that the traps are full pretty quickly and they smell so bad. lol but you just cut the top plastic off, pop them up and put the water in and hang them up. I do appreciate that they come with the strings already attached so they’re easy to hang up. The strings are decent length too.
I saw these and figured I’d give them a try – Alabama has some bugs. Also my daughter is going through a phase where she won’t step outside without looking for bugs, and will refuse to go if she sees them. We’re working through it. Anyways, I got these just to see if they would improve my back patio’s bug situation, plus it showed my 4 year old that we’re trapping all the bugs.as others have stated, they do work, but they don’t attract as many as I’d expect. Also, I didn’t really have any major issues, but I could see the potential for what otherws referred to in terms of quality control. So 4-stars for me in that I don’t have much of a basis for comparison and I seem to be lucky (and they helped me deter my daughters unfounded freakout moments) but I’ll update over time, and this might slip to 3 stars from a performance prospective.
