Some rooms have no window worth trapping. A garage, a covered porch, a patio, a barn, a kitchen with the back door open all summer — in those spaces insects travel through open air instead of collecting on glass. A hanging stick puts the catching surface where they actually fly: up, in the open, near the light.

Fly stick, fly ribbon, fly paper — what is the difference?

Mostly the shape. All three are the same idea: a surface coated in a slow-drying adhesive, left where flies land. A fly ribbon or fly paper strip unrolls into a spiral; a fly stick is rigid and hangs flat, which makes it easier to place, easier to take down, and far less likely to end up stuck to your hair. People use the terms interchangeably, so if you searched for a sticky fly ribbon, this is the same job in a tidier format.

Where to hang one

  • Indoors — near where insects gather rather than in the middle of a room: bins, drains, doorways, fruit bowls, a sunny window frame.
  • Outdoors — porches, patios, stables, coops and garages. Keep it under cover; direct rain and full sun shorten its life.
  • Height — roughly head height or above. Flies cruise high, and a stick out of reach stays out of the way of people and pets.

What it catches, and what it does not

House flies, cluster flies, blow flies and other flying insects moving through open air are what this is built for. Beyond that, it is worth being straight with you:

  • Fungus gnats around houseplants — partly. The larvae live in damp potting soil, so the real fix is letting the top inch dry out between waterings. A stick nearby will pick up adults drifting through the room, but it will not stop them breeding.
  • Fruit flies — partly, and only after the source is gone. They breed in overripe fruit, recycling and drains; clear that first. Once it is clear, a stick near the bowl or bin catches the stragglers still circling.
  • Mosquitoes — no. A sticky surface catches the occasional one, but mosquitoes hunt by carbon dioxide and body heat rather than drifting into things. This is not mosquito control and we would rather say so than sell you the wrong thing.
  • Pantry or clothes moths — no. Those need a pheromone lure; use our pheromone moth traps instead.

If your flies are collecting on a window pane rather than crossing a room, a window corner trap sits right where they land and stays out of sight.

How many you need

One stick covers a single room, a one-car garage or a covered porch. Doubling up helps in a space with two doorways or a high ceiling — place them apart so each covers its own airspace rather than competing for the same flies. Replace a stick when the surface is covered, or at the end of the season.

Odorless and non-toxic

There is no bait, no insecticide and no scent — the adhesive does the work, so nothing is released into the room and there is nothing to air out afterward. Each stick is recycled paper and stays tacky for up to 90 days. If you want to increase the catch in an open outdoor space, adding your own attractant nearby works; the stick itself stays unscented.

What is in the pack

  1. Works ok, good thing is you can hang it up on put on shelf/ window seal, doesn’t catch as many bugs as the small stickey traps do, does mention putting something in bottom to in-tice them to it more which I haven’t yet, they do a glow in the dark version that may work well at night, so may try them at some point

  2. Takes a while to work

  3. I have a lot of fruit flies and these work great. I’d definitely buy again. Caught the fruit flies in pic in approximately 3 hours.

  4. We had alot of fruit flies in our kitchen and im always a skeptic when it comes to this stuff. However after one day of placing these in the kitchen they eliminated 99% of them. Do they work? Absolutely. If you want the best results we put some strawberries in the bottom of item and a cup with grap vinegar to attract them to the sticks and as you can see it worked like magic. Would definitely buy again. By the way people if you want to see the best results use bait (like what i mentioned) and put them next to the sticks because the sticks do not attract fruit flies on their own. But other then that excellent product. Oh and don’t touch the yellow part of the stick when u unbox it its really sticky

  5. Excellent product, works like a charm. Thanks for this , this summer we don’t have to deal with flies. It’s worth the money. I keep buying for ever
